X-TREME Guitar, included on the Orbit CD, was performed primarily on a Fender Telecaster (the only instrument not included in the poster!). The strings are Fender 9's and the pick is the usual heavy jazz type I always use. This piece took a few weeks to nail. The original idea came from wanting to include a fast background using the EMU Mo'Phatt (a synthesizer well known in hip-hop circles) with an orchestra string section and guitar solo. As it turned out, a classical* guitar was also used for the harmonic background as opposed to an electric piano, which was the original concept. I prefer the classical in this role though, as it almost takes on a lead quality sharing it with the Fender Telecaster.
